Holiday Schedules / Feriados & Festivos
2024 US Holiday Schedule
Regular Full-time employees receive eight (8) hours of Holiday pay per Holiday.
Discretionary Holidays are awarded annually, effective January 1 each year, for use during the calendar year, and may only be taken in full day (generally 8 hour) increments.
Regular Part-time employees who work more than twenty (20) hours per week receive a prorated amount of Holiday pay based on regularly scheduled work hours. The amount of prorated leave is rounded up or down to the nearest half hour. (For example, an employee who works 32 hours per week would be eligible for 6.5 hours of holiday pay (6.4 hours rounded to the nearest half hour); an employee who works 28 hours per week would be eligible for 5.5 hours of holiday pay (5.6 hours rounded to the nearest half hour)). The prorated holiday pay is paid whether or not the holiday falls on the employee’s regularly scheduled work day.
Regular Part-time employees who work more than twenty (20) hours per week receive a prorated amount of Discretionary Holiday pay for use in a manner consistent with the calculation for regular Holiday pay.
Employees employed as of January 1, 2024 will receive the full amount of Discretionary Holidays based on their Center/location.
Employees eligible for Discretionary Holiday should request use in the same manner as vacation leave.
If the Holiday falls on a day the employee would be normally scheduled to work more hours than the amount of holiday pay benefit, the employee may use vacation time to cover the additional hours.
NOTE: Temporary Employees are not eligible for Holiday pay.
